March 7, 2006 – According to Forbes.com, Snapfish has signed a deal with Wal-Mart to provide the retail giant with its online photo services. The results of the deal are supposed to bear fruit this fall, when Wal-Mart Customers will be able to upload and order prints and other photo gifts via Snapfish.

Snapfish, which was acquired by HP almost exactly a year ago, is now slated to do Wal-Mart’s sharing and storing. The actual printing and delivery will be coordinated by Fujifilm. The pictures can be delivered to the home for the same 12 cents a print offered by Snapfish now. They can also be picked up at any one of Wal-Mart’s 3,000 locations that is equipped with a one-hour photo center.

The Internet photo service offers more than 90 photo gifts, including customized mousepads and T-shirts. The deal also encompasses service to Sam’s Club, which is a subsidiary of Wal-Mart.
