March 22, 2006 – No longer will scrapbookers need to purchase paper, lace, die-cuts and ribbons. Scrapblog LLC announced yesterday that it launched the world’s first online scrapbooking service. Scrapblog.com combines the concept of photo-sharing web sites with the creativity of a blog to provide its free service.

"We’ve created a service which breaks through the limitations of current photo-sharing Web sites," said CEO Carlos Garcia in yesterday’s press release. "Scrapblog enables people to personalize and categorize their digital photos to creatively tell the stories of their lives, bridging the distance between people by making it possible to share important memories with more emotion than photo-sharing sites and blogs can convey."

Users can upload pictures, then drag and drop them on different templates. Stickers, text, shapes, and frames can be added to make the "scrapblog" a little more interesting. Photos can be edited as well. The pages can then be published to a personalized web site, where invited friends and family can view and add comments.

Scrapblog LLC will hold a monthly design contest with a $1,000 reward. The first winner will be chosen April 30.
