*October 19, 2005 -*On Tuesday, Lexar Media announced that it had released a CompactFlash reader that offers transfer rates of over 10 Mbps, the Professional CompactFlash Reader. The reader is also designed to be stackable, so that many readers can lie atop each other to better organize a photographer’s work space, and up to four units can utilize a single FireWire or connection. Four units can also utilize a USDB connection with the additional purchase of a USB hub.

Lexar’s director of professional product marketing, John Omvik, said, "The big trend today for the pros is turning images around quickly, and that means they need workflow tools that will enable the speed of transferring images… Our newest product, the Professional CompactFlash Reader is a high quality, durable device that streamlines the photography workflow and improves the experience for professionals."

The Professional CompactFlash Reader is available for $89.99.
