January 5, 2005 – Sony introduced the 5.1-megapixel Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T33 at the 2005 International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The new digital camera is a successor to the slim T-3 and comes in more colors: silver, white, blue and brown.

The Cyber-shot T-33 comes with a 2.5-inch LCD screen that boasts anti-solarizing technology. The camera also sports impressive optics – a Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens – that retracts into the camera. In Cyber-shot fashion, the lens cap electronically snaps open and closed as it powers on and off. Unfortunately, the T-33 only has a 3x optical zoom. It also has a 12x digital zoom, but as with all digital zooms, the picture quality is compromised.
