There's something delightfully visceral about instant film. If you grew up in the days of Polaroid cameras, you know exactly what I'm talking about. The picture quality isn't crystal clear, you can't mess with the settings, and you only get one chance to get the shot right. It's candid photography at its best, and an instant camera makes a great going-away gift for the college student in your life.

Polaroid still makes instant cameras, but Fujifilm's Instax lineup is actually a much better option these days. We reviewed a bunch of the most popular instant cameras and the 4 Instax cameras were tried took the top four spots in our list of the best instant cameras on the market.

The Instax Mini 9, whose predecessor (the Mini 8) won the title of "Best Value" for delivery quality images at a great price, is even on sale right now for just $58-$60 (depending on the color) on Amazon. You can usually find it for $65-$70, but this 13% discount is the lowest price we've ever seen for this camera.

The Mini 9 features a selfie mirror so you can check your pic before you press the button. The camera auto-detects exposure to give you some guarantee your photo will actually come out good, and there's a macro lense for close-up shots. It also comes in five fun colors: cobalt blue, flamingo pink, ice blue, smokey white, and lime green. And while film might seem expensive ($35 for a 60-pack), it works out to be less than $1 per shot.

Snap up a Fujifilm Instax Mini 9 instant camera for $under $60 on Amazon.
