I took Fujifilm's new X100F into the urban jungle—here are the pics to prove it

Six years of refinement keep this camera's spirit alive

I've had my grubby mitts on Fujifilm's latest advanced compact for the past few days and you should totally be jealous. The new Fujifilm X100F is a lot like the three prior iterations, but it's also another big refinement for the overall concept. Adding such niceties as an AF point selection joystick show that Fujifilm isn't done innovating, and it's certainly not done luring pro shooters to its seductive retro cameras.

One thing's for sure: even though it may have a faster processor, an improved Hybrid OVF/EVF, and a new 24-megapixel Xtrans sensor inside, the Fujifilm X100F bears the spirit of the original Finepix X100 in spades. It's still a unique shooting experience that no other camera really rivals, especially for the $1,300 price that Fujifilm charges.

Of course, getting the performance of the more expensive, flagship Fujifilm X-Pro2 from the cheaper X100F kinda makes it seem like a good deal in comparison. Fuji's put its latest imaging tech into this new X100F, and it shows.

Even though I've only had it a few days, here are the first images I shot with the new X100F:
