Early this morning at CES, Fujifilm announced a new weather-resistant standard zoom lens designed to help get the shot, whatever the conditions. The new Fujinon XF 16–55mm f/2.8 R LM WR is a do-everything, 24–88mm equivalent zoom that's heavily protected against the elements.

Designed with photojournalists and advanced enthusiast photographers in mind, the lens uses 14 sealing points for a durable, weather-resistant, and dust-proof design that requires no compromise, even in the most challenging environments.

Described as the perfect match for a Fujifilm X-T1—the company's first and only weather-sealed body—the lens uses the newly-developed Nano-GI (Gradient Index) coating technology to effectively inhibit ghosting and flare. Notably absent, however, is Fuji's OIS image stabilization.

The Fujinon XF 16–55mm f/2.8 R LM WR will be available in February 2015 for $1,199.95.
