Canon Issues Lens Service Advisory

Recommendations are independently chosen by Reviewed's editors. Purchases made through the links below may earn us and our publishing partners a commission.

October 28, 2005 - Canon has issued a service advisory for their EF24-105mm f/4L IS USM Lens, stating that certain models may cause unacceptable flare, especially at wide aperture and wide angle settings. Affected lenses have control numbers stamped on them with the digits UT and an accompanying number of less than 1,000. Starting November 14, these defective lenses can be mailed to Canon, who will repair them free of charge and pay for all associating shipping costs.
