Sigma's booth at Photokina has no elaborate set pieces or displays, but they do let you try out their selection of lenses on your own camera.

Unlike most larger manufacturers, Sigma's booth at Photokina isn't full of elaborate set pieces or flashy displays. In fact, the booth doesn't even have real chairs for visitors, instead offering a slew of empty, upside-down Sigma boxes that attendees can use as a perch.
But Sigma makes up for its lack of pizazz by opening up its entire line of lenses to users who pass through the booth. If you're carrying an interchangeable lens camera (and most Photokina attendees are), chances are that Sigma has a lens for you to try. Just walk up to one of the many lens tables, tell them what kind of mount you have, and Sigma will guide you through the options available. We couldn't help but try out a few gigantic telephoto lenses with the Nikon DSLRs we had with us.
In addition to its bounty of lenses, Sigma also showed off its DP Merrill series of compact digital cameras, which were announced earlier this year. The DP1 and DP2 Merrill cameras both feature an obscenely high-resolution 46-megapixel image sensor stuffed into a package that's nearly small enough to fit in your pocket.
