The Nikon J-series is a tiny step up from the classic point-and-shoot. Customers get the feeling they're using a simple, $200 device, but are actually getting the image quality expected from a compact system camera. We reviewed the Nikon 1 J3 and found that while it had solid image quality, it also had useful shooting modes, accurate autofocus, and speedy continuous shooting. It's pricey though, so if you want the same experience, you might want to look into the Nikon 1 J2, which is on sale at Amazon in multiple colors for about $300 with free shipping.
